Aug. 13, 2024 - This past weekend was a good one for viewing wildlife here at the campground. We had 2 doe and 4 fawns foraging just a few feet from our camper door yesterday, plus 2 large bucks hanging out at sites 12 and 13. On Saturday our family was camping at site T1. We were chatting at the picnic table when a huge Bald Eagle landed in a tree just a few yards away while its mate (assumed) cruised around nearby. One of our guests who was spending the weekend in site 1 said he had been watching the eagles traveling back and forth from their nest just across the spillway, feeding 2 youngsters. This same guest had been watching a couple of Osprey carrying fish from the lake back to their nests. Sunday there were 2 Stellar Jays perched on a limb just outside our camper window. That is only the 2nd time this summer we have seen them. The Hummingbirds have been putting on a good show around the feeders too.
